PAHS Science Club Visits Pacific Science CenterThanks to support from the Port Angeles Education Foundation, YMCA, and AmeriCorps program, 15 Port Angeles High School Science Club students attended a Teen Science Café at the Pacific Science Center February 15. The topic of the evening was “Make All the Things” hosted by the Pacific Science Center’s Maker in Residence, Jennifer Fox.

Jennifer shared her approach to education, the content she produces, and her development as a generalist engineer. Students then had a chance to design a build something of their own – an object that would move of its own volition when placed on a flat surface.

Since this was a “teens only” event, Science Club teachers were left outside in the rain! But, they had a great time visiting with PAHS graduates and current UW students Brytnee Gardner and Lily Brown. Brytnee and Lily are finding college appropriately challenging and are doing quite well academically and socially as Freshman Huskies.
