Volunteer Opportunities

The Big Hurt

In 1997, the City of Port Angeles asked the North Olympic Peninsula Visitor and Convention Bureau to put together an event that would bring people to town and the Big Hurt was born.

The Big Hurt is a multi discipline race consisting of 4 race legs: mountain bike, kayak, road bike, and a 10k run. This race cannot be a success without the help of volunteers. This year, NJROTC will be working in the bike exchange zone and the surf zone to help competitors with their gear. Adult supervision will be required in each area for the duration of the race.

The race willl take place Saturday, 28 Sep and will begin at 9AM. Please click the following link for details and to volunteer.
